ABOUT

On the weekend of 27-28 April 2024, Hestra IF and IK Ymer will welcome you to the 45th Linnémarschen, a walk in the beautiful Rya Åsar nature reserve, visited by Carl von Linné (Linneaus) back in 1746. We are now an IML international walk.

Start and finish are at the Borås Arena, just a stone´s throw from the Rya Åsar nature reserve.

Dates: Saturday/Sunday 27 – 28 April 2024.

Start/Finish: Borås Arena.

PARKING

Parking in the vicinity of Borås Arena. Sign posts from the roundabout in Knalleland and also from Getängsvägen/Ålgårdsbron.

CHANGE / SHOWERS

You can shower and change clothes within Borås Arena.

TOILETS

There is toilets at the start and finish area at Borås Arena and along the route at the following places:

Saturday (Marathon Walk + 57 km): Kypegården, Ymergården, Kransmossen, Älmås, Transåssjön, Pickesjön.

Saturday (21 km): Kypegården, Ymergården

Sunday (21 km): Hestrastugan, Hästhagen, Almenäs and Ramshulan.

SIGNS AND VIEW POINTS

Along the courses there are several information signs for culturel och botanical interesting points in the nature reservat of Rya Åsar. The courses are marked up with plastic bands.

Sunday: 21km, 30 km + 57 km are passing the beautiful viewing point Hestra klint with a fantastic view over the valley of the river Viskan and the city of Borås.

You are free to use walking sticks.

ENTRY FEES

Until 19 April 2024:

57 km 2-days, incl breakfast = 600 SEK
42 km Marathon Walk = 400 SEK
30 km Hestra/Rya Åsar = 300 SEK
21 km Kype-Ymer, 21 km Rya Åsar = 260 SEK
10,5 km Kype and 10,5 km Viskan = 220 SEK
23 km Hitta hem = 350 SEK (bus transport included)

LATE ENTRY (at event day saturday-sunday)

On-site entry is possible at Borås Arena Saturday/Sunday from 07.30 AM until start.

(Instant entry is not possible to “57 km 2-days” or “23 km Hitta hem”)

42 Marathon Walk = 540 SEK
30 km Hestra/Rya Åsar = 420 SEK
21 km Kype-Ymer, 21 km Rya Åsar = 350 SEK
10,5 km Kype and 10,5 km Viskan = 300 SEK

BUY ENTRY / PAYMENT

Please, do your entry at our website www.linnemarschen.com and pay with credit card.

The payment must be made to Hestra IF before 19 April 2024. The entry fee includes refreshments along the routes, and a “Linné” souvenir.

FOOD AND WATER

Food and water stations along the routes are included in the fee.

42 km Marathon Walk – 12 stations
21 km Kype-Ymer – 4 stations
10,5 km Kype – 2 stations
6 km Adventure Walk – 2 stations

Sunday

30 km Hestra/Rya Åsar – 6 stations
21 km Rya Åsar – 5 stations
10,5 km Viskan (River Walk) – 2 stations
6 km Adventure Walk – 2 stations

After the finish you can just relax and enjoy. You can buy hamburgers, sandwiches coffee, etc. There are lotteries where you can win flowers and other things.

RESPONSIBILITY

You walk on your own responsibility.

WALKING CLASSICS

Linnémarschen is one of the largest walking events in the North and are a member of the Swedish “Folksport” Association (IVV) Walking Classics and in the nordic “Vandrebukett”. Stamps/registry and walkingpassports in the area of start and finish.
